AN EXTREMIST’S SPORT

ImageImage

I must admit that i have always been a “sucker” for extreme sport. and by “sucker” i mean watching but not actually doing. am just not that adventurous and also because they were not showcased that much in Kenya. but all that is about to change. apparently some extreme spots have been here for a while and new ones are just coming up. I think now i can finally go and try paintball but rock climbing i still have to check on that. to me heights aren’t my thing at all. Gravity was made for Erick and Erick really loves gravity. back to extreme sports. examples of extreme sports are: Rock climbing, scuba diving, Motocross and paintball. those are the few that i know right now that are in Kenya. if you any more please go ahead and comment down there? tell me new ones so that i can finally come out of the Egg and stop being such an extreme sport chicken?! HEY DONT YOU DARE CALL ME CHICKEN!

And for the organization which do team building excercise, this round spice things up by trying some extreme sports such as paintball

some paintball places are: Service Area
Parklands 3rd avenue, opposite Aga khan hospital inside City Park.

HASHEEM THABEET IN KENYA

Image        Image

The tallest active NBA basketball player graced Kenyan screens and this round not with his jersey on but at an interview with Larry Madowo on the #trend show. He currently plays for Oklahoma City Thunder. And lemme just say that i was amazed by the height of the guy. I’ve seen tall people like our brothers from South Sudan but i must commend the Tanzanian player. The cameras in the studio had to be re-adjusted because the guy was too tall to appear in the “camera view”. the funny part was when Larry stood next to Hasheem and he was literally looking up at him. he performed some dribblers in the studio. personally i loved the guy, Michael Jordan in my mind has found a successor. At least there is an East African player who has made it into the NBA.

The event will start at 1pm and end at 5pm, All Rongai residents and the entire Multimedia fraternity are welcome, the entrance fee is Sh.50.

According to the event organizer, Mr. Tom Kinyanjui, the event is well planned and is to be attended by high profile personalities. ” I decided to come up with this event because i realized Rongai residents do not participate in this activities,” he said.

“I simply want to bring a new event to this region and my aim is to popularize the swimming sport which is unpopular in this area.”

When i asked him whether their is payment for the winners, he had this to say, “this is a competition like any other, therefore whoever wins there is a token, the overall winner will go home with Sh.10,000, the second Sh, 5,000 while the third one Sh, 2,500.”

He later went on to give a list of what the club house offers (pictured below)Image

MISERY OF THE MMU BASKETBALL TEAM

Image

If you have ever played basketball in a rough ground or worse enough having to practice in one court when you are the whole team and each player using their own basketballs in that one basketball court? Am guessing some of you have and others have not. One thing for sure is that it isn’t that much of fun and those who have gone through such an experience can second me on that. For a university its more embarrassing to have their basketball players go through such a state which if it was at a high school; well am not degrading high schools but will all know am saying the truth; will be much better. So I am literally pitching for the players right now.

As a student in the school I would say it’s very awkward how since the school’s students center was engulfed in flames last semester, till now the school has made zero effort to fix the place. Makes you wonder why the hell are they preserving the place. It isn’t a RUIN. Okay, back to basketball. The school main basketball court is found at the MMU RUIN if I may call it and the gates of the place have been shut closed. So the players have been forced to go and do the training at a court behind the girl’s hostels. Out of negligence the court has grew grass and it is paved so when you dribble the ball, the chances coming back to your hands are ummm! 60% and I am being generous here with my fury the administration.

I think someone in the school is seriously drooling at their desk because with the basketball team performance it’s a miracle who the keep winning at such an environment. So the sports official in the school should really chip in and fix the issue ASAP!
